NYARM MEMBERS HAVE HEART

It is always heartwarming to witness the capacity NYARM members have for charitable efforts. Professionals with overloaded schedules and too little personal time still manage to dedicate themselves to those less fortunate.

Witness the article about Service Directions' holiday visits to children's hospitals. Anyone who reads this newspaper on a regular basis is well aware of NYARM's efforts for the mentally challenged children of AHRC's schools in Greenpoint and Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. Joe Dee of JAD Corporation of America is involved with numerous organizations including the Boomer Esiason Foundation and Boys Town of Italy. Mitchell Hammer, Rose Associates at Rivercross is dedicated to autism research through NAAR (National Alliance for Autism Research) and Deborah Morrell of Columbia University and NYARM Vice President delivers a NYARM donation to breast cancer research every year.

Stephen Shulman of Borah Goldstein Altshuler & Schwartz is a member of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training. As part of a nationwide effort, he is raising money on behalf of Laurelle Ritter, a 12 year old who has been diagnosed and is being treated for leukemia. Steve will be running a 26.2 mile marathon in San Diego on June 3, 2001. His goal is to raise $5,000. This money will be used by the Society for treatment including drugs, transfusions, transportation, radiation and x-ray therapy and counseling. Contributions are tax deductible and will be used to try to save the life of a leukemia sufferer. Donations must be received by April 1, 2001. If you wish to make a contribution contact Steve at 212-965-2731 or SHUL88@aol.com. Steve promises to let us know the results of the race and thanks you in advance for your generosity.
