Y2K AND YOUR VCR

Some of you might already be aware that many VCR’s are not Y2K compliant. I know mine’s not. To check is simple…when your VCR prompts you for a date, either in setting the day or for programming, if it only asks for the last two digits of the year (i.e. 1/1/99 instead of 1/1/1999) your VCR is NOT Y2K compliant.

But don’t throw away your VCR in the year 2000. The year 1972 had the same calendar days of the week and month as the year 2000 will have. Just set your VCR timer for 1/1/72, not 1/1/00 and you’ll be fine.

Pass the word around!
